A message from our inhouse Australian registered Physiotherapist .... Kerry Benton"I was excited to be approached by the Smidgit team to take on the role of their in-house physiotherapist to critique their animations and human Smidgie videos. I also work with the animation team in suggesting more simple Smidgie movements which I know are good practice in my industry. This is the level of commitment the Directors have put in place to ensure their various Smidgie actions are safe for a healthy person to perform. For the past 15 years I have been practicing Physiotherapy in two countries and have seen numerous injuries/disorders directly resulting from people not taking regular breaks from working at their computers such as Repetitive Strain Injury, Stiff Joints, Golfers and Tennis Elbow, Headache, Sore Neck & Shoulders, Sore upper Back all the way down to Varicose Veins! These conditions can be caused by sitting in static positions for too long and performing repetitive actions. If the end user utilizes the Smidgit program and performs regular simple actions as shown, I see this as being an extremely valuable way of contributing to the health and wellbeing of the user, which can result in cost savings to the workplace and improved productivity." Taryn Robert "While computers are a fantastic tool there are many people like us, who's bodies are becoming victims of sitting for too long at our computers and this also includes children! While it's great having all ergonomically correct chairs and desks etc. we still need to think about our bodies as they are the part that can break down before your chair falls apart or your hard-drive crashes! Many people we know focus on their work and not on their health and well being while working and we are two of them! Having Smidgit in your Home - Work - School is fantastic because it will We created Smidgitâ„¢ so it's colourful, eye-catching, fun, practical and great for anywhere you are sitting at a computer. The micro reminders last long enough so they are effectivie in doing their job to remind you to move a different part of your body or just get a drink of water. remind you to MOVE! We hope you love Smidgit as much as we have enjoyed creating it. Good health to you all! |
