Video Guidelines

What you need

  1. You need a camera that will give you a MP4, AVI
(the file size should not be bigger than 100mb)

  2. You need a person to film you or you them – please do not wear any items that may infringe copyright. (ie no T-shirts with company logo's etc)
(only 1 person in the movie at a time thanks)
  1. Your movie needs to be CLEAR and not too DARK or too LIGHT so find a great spot to shoot it and try to not wobble too much when filming.
  2. Your movie needs to be about 40 – 60 seconds long.
    (no longer thanks!)

Preparation

Once you have found a great location then:
1/ Work out what movement you are going to do and make sure you do it  SLOWLY – SAFELY – SENSIBLY and keep it SIMPLE and Fun

2/ Please do not *bounce or jerk* when you do your movements – a smooth steady flow is best

3/ Please try to just do one movement at a time per video (things like: open and close your hands for 30 seconds  – or clap your hands for 30 seconds - NOT clap your hands, then put your hands on your head, then move your hands around in a circle etc. Instead .. why not do 3 videos of each of these movements! )

4/ Please try to make sure when you are filming that you only get the one person you are filming in the shot. (ie don't  film if other people are standing behind the person you are filming)

FIRST DO A PRACTICE RUN OF EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU START RECORDING!

Filming

  1. Record and wait 3 seconds before the person does ANYTHING… (we need a little bit of footage at the beginning and the end for editing.)
  2. The person being filmed then needs to WAVE hi and give a GREAT BIG SMILE!
  3. The person then does their slow and sensible action or movement. (for about 25 – 35 seconds)
  4. The person finishes by WAVING Bye and giving another GREAT BIG SMILE!
  5. Keep recording for about 3 - 5 seconds and then STOP.

And it's DONE!

Please note all Human Smidgie videos will be viewed by our specialist team at Smidgit Headquarters and only those that follow our guidelines above will be successful.

Thanks for taking part in helping to remind another person sitting at their computer .. TO MOVE!
